Brave Girls Comeback With The New Song Deepened

Brave Girls ~ Deepened
After three long years, K-Pop group Brave Girlshave come back to the scene with something fresh and full of changes! Their style was always cool but the girls flipped the tables and have clearly been watching the trends over the years because they've returned as if they'd never left to begin with! ! "Deepened" is a fun, slow-tempo, hip-hop track fused with a popular, fast-paced Miami beat!

It is no shock that "Deepened" is raking in the attention of fans for many reasons! First off, the whole member change was quite the surprise as new members  Minyoung, Youjung, Eunji, Yuna, and Hayoon took the places of former members  Eunyoung, Seo Ah, andYejin. With a new line up came a new swag style as "Deepened" has a nice sentimental value to it that can leave the listener feeling unquenched for their "thirst for love."

The song starts off with a boss @$$ instrumental that no one was expecting! The beat carries a real slick sound as it drops into an alluringly slow tempo, accompanied by elongated piano notes and Brave Girls' words echoing alongside the hyped beat. The light taps of the drum, sudden flash of the snares, and odd twang of the guitar strumming make this song an easy track to get addicted to and even get down to on the dance floor! The instrumental is something I can easily see Western artists like Nicki Minaj, BeyoncĂ© or even Drake incorporating into their sound, which shows Brave Sound knows how to craft a great instrumental dance track!

The MV is very entertaining to watch since their dance moves go beyond the generic routines! The deep, slow-motioned drop of their bodies in the opening fills viewers with anticipation as they wonder what is to come next. What is really likable is the fact that the sex appeal doesn't feel forced but more natural as they effortlessly transition into the sequence of dance moves with expertise! The dancing is admittedly a bit too upbeat and fast-paced for this song at times. Some dances can get away with being paired alongside slow instrumentals but "Deepened" demands something just a tad bit more mid-paced and gentle for certain parts.

Some may think it is a dance better suited for videos like 4Minute's "Crazy" but  I guarantee if you mute the audio and play Janet Jackson's "When We Oooo," you wouldn't be disappointed. The only thing I have against this MV is the endless clasping into nothingness. What are you grabbing ladies? Hopefully a spot on the Top 10!

The song relays a nice message without being too cliche as the lyrics are easily relatable for anyone's "thirst for love." The girls know their love has become different as they echo"You've really changed too much" and "I deserve better," showing their agonizing longing of wanting to be loved the right way again and "going back to the beginning." The rap also has a sick flow to it and carries along the rising pace of the song in that intense moment. The addictive chorus and hypnotizing rap itself are enough to ease people into enjoying the song but, paired with their strong choreo, "Deepened" offers something much more rewarding,

Although the song doesn't necessarily have a 100% winning element to it, Brave Girls' return to K-Pop is definitely strong in comparison to other group's comebacks lately. "Deepened" may be strong enough to score them high on the charts as fused hip-hop tracks are quite the rage lately!  Let's wish Brave Girls the best with their new track and expect more from them in the future, too!

Double S301 COMEBACK WITH THE NEW SONG PAIN

Double S301 ~ PAIN

It's time to wipe away the tears and take a breath of relief as the long-awaited return ofSS501 has come in the form of 3 with sub-unit group  Double S 301 in their new song "Pain." The boys have been away from the scene for a few years and are coming back stronger than ever with their powerfully alluring song.

"Pain" is a song filled with charisma, various changes in sound and, overall, a rustic Latin sensation blended into the rough yet smooth vocals of Double S 301. "Pain" has a real"LOVEYA" vibe to it as the dance is chic and in-your-face while expressing the thrilling emotions of love. "Pain's" soft piano paired with the repetitive harmonic guitar riffs create a perfect mix of melodies. The song's instrumental offers an intense listen due to the dramatic rises in tempo and sudden drops into silence, making it a surprisingly dramatic track!  Dive into the MV for yourself and check out what Double S 301 has brought to the table!

The most winning aspect is the uprise in tempo which really brings a rush to the listener as the chorus becomes intensified after the wacky rap verse prior to it. The "sweet and bitter" verse has a little Seo Taiji feeling to it in the sense of capturing a zany sound but it makes "Pain" carry a whimsical charm and showcase some variety. The 'Engrish' lyrics are another loveable aspect of this song because every fan will forever be repeating "I'm so pain" when relevant. The build up before the final verse at 2:25 is quite intense as sirens play during the monotonous "pain" which then lead up to a high pitched high note that makes this song extreme and flooding with emotion!

The MV was done exceptionally well for many reasons. It really emphasised their dynamic body movements in every routine, and the clean ivory room contrasting with their black silhouettes make it totally eye-catching! However, they seem a bit rusty because, although their dance moves are sharp and striking, it lacks attractiveness as those body waves are less sauve and more stiff. The subtle color changes from red and purple back to clean white really represent passionate lust and feelings of pain mixed with purity. The visionary appeal stays true to this song's concept and sends the listener into a tango-like whirlwind of emotions with its Latin-inspired sound. All these pieces combined makes "Pain" enjoyable as it has the moving message of a ballad but the powerful sounds of hit songs during the golden years of 2010.

In the end, SS501 have released more solid and instantly likable hits but the sounds of "Pain" really grow on you quickly and easily! It is refreshing to see these seniors back on the stage and taking it on with a some new flair and an appealing style! The group seem like a relic in time, which makes them score high as "Pain" gives a nice sense of nostalgia with every listen.

4minute Comeback with Album Act.7

4minute ~ Act.7
I've had a love-hate relationship with 4minute for the past few years. I fell in love with them in 2012, when "Volume Up" was still fresh, and filled my ears with their catalog. I felt their 2013 and 2014 offerings were awkward and patched together with a number of unfinished songs. Their singles, like "Only Gained Weight" and "Is it Poppin'?" seemed light years better than what was coming off the mini-albums. In 2015, they reinvented themselves with 'Crazy,' which featured wildly catchy hip-hop tracks. Now I'm hyped: they're back for the new year with the EP 'ACT. 7.'
